POLLEN PHOTOGRAPHY is a community basic workshop, all about teaching students to capture their world using Personal observation through the lens, in life, the environment and nature. The workshop is geared towards middle and high school students, classes will emphasize the basics of photography and it's principles, how to take quality photos no matter what camera you are using and finding your inner photojournalist.
Teacher is Kate Mercer of Utopia Bat Photography in Daphne, has a degree in photography, and spent 16 years as staff photographer a various newspaper (12 years at the Mobile Press-Register), career photojournalist who has won numerous awards spanning 2 decades, one time Alabama Photojournalist of the year, and her published work has been see all over the globe and in dozens of newspapers and online media.
Open to students ages 13-22, no class fee! just a registration of $35 for each student per semester (8 week course) covers printed and online material and classroom attendance. Workshop runs for 8 weeks starting January 24th, limit is 20 students per class. One evening weekday and one weekend class time will be available per semester....Open to Baldwin or Mobile students. Why so cheap? My way of giving back to area youth and inspire a new generation of photojournalist and photographers!
